Colusa Youth Basketball League Parent Code of Conduct
Welcome to our Youth Basketball League! We are excited to have your child participate in this program, and we appreciate your involvement and support. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask that all parents and guardians read, understand, and sign this Code of Conduct.
Respect the Facilities
Our league is hosted in facilities owned by local schools. Please respect the property as if it were your own.
Keep the premises clean. Dispose of trash in designated areas and encourage your child to do the same.
Supervise any younger children you bring to games or practices to ensure they do not disrupt the facility or activities.
Support the Coaches and Officials
Our coaches and officials are dedicated volunteers who are here to help your child develop skills and enjoy the game. Please always treat them with respect.
Remember that decisions made by officials are final. Negative comments or confrontations are not appropriate and detract from the experience for everyone involved.
Encourage Positive Behavior
Support all players, including those on opposing teams. Cheer for good effort and sportsmanship, not just winning.
Teach your child the value of teamwork, effort, and perseverance. Winning is great, but learning and having fun are the main goals.
Be a Role Model
Set a good example for your child by always displaying respectful and positive behavior.
Avoid negative interactions with other parents, coaches, officials, or players. If an issue arises, address it calmly and through the proper channels.
Safety First
Ensure your child follows all safety guidelines and wears the proper gear for practices and games.
Report any safety concerns to a coach or league official immediately.
Commitment to Fair Play
Encourage your child to play by the rules and respect the game. Fair play is more important than winning.
Help your child understand that everyone makes mistakes and that those mistakes are opportunities for growth.
Respect for All Participants
We welcome participants from diverse backgrounds. Please promote an inclusive and respectful environment for all players, parents, and staff.
By agreeing to this Code of Conduct, I acknowledge that I understand and agree to uphold these principles. I understand that failure to comply may result in being asked to leave the facility and/or my child’s participation in the league being reconsidered.
Thank you for helping us create a positive and supportive environment for our youth basketball league. Your cooperation ensures that all participants can enjoy the game, develop their skills, and build lasting memories.
We appreciate your commitment to fostering a positive experience for everyone involved in our league. Your support and enthusiasm make all the difference!
The contact will be automatically added to the class as a registrant if someone drops out from a full class.
